Turkey embodies the cautious nature of global property investors

A stable economy, a cautious Government and a notably responsible attitude towards debt have combined to mark Turkey out as one of the fastest growing economies on the planet.

While a lot of their European counterparts are struggling to look beyond the end of this year in financial terms, Turkey’s immediate financial future looks prosperous.

This, in turn, means that the country has become a potentially attractive proposition for property investors all over the globe.

Turkey has made great recent strides to set themselves up as a shining example of calm and caution in an increasingly fragile global economic market.

The country have paid back over two thirds of their existing debt to the International Monetary Fund since 2002. They have also established a stable banking system, in stark contrast to a number of their European neighbours.

This system allows them to maintain a high liquidity environment, something that has doubtless played a big part in their recent stability.

Property investors will view key economic practices such as these as reasons why investing in the country could be a relatively safe bet.

Safety and security have become the key watchwords for global property investors in recent times. Purchasing alpine property in places like France and Switzerland, as well as prime property in central London, have characterised the cautious nature of most investors.

Turkey looks as though it is another country which now fits into that mould.

Transfer Money to Turkey

If you are looking to invest in Turkey, think carefully about how you will be transferring money to Turkey. Foreign currency exchange rates quoted by banks are almost always worse than the exchange rates available through specialist currency dealers.

So if you are looking to send money to Turkey – which you will inevitably have to do if you are looking to make a property investment, be sure to compare the market before you buy your overseas currency.
