Investors are showing a strong interest in the Costa del Azahar as a new location for property investment, with the level of Spanish tradition and culture on show in the region thought to be the main reason for this.
A recent survey has shown that Spain is still coming out on top as one of the most attractive destinations for overseas property investment, despite the current economic crisis.
The area is expected to attract holidaymakers and property investors who are looking for a property located away from major tourist hotspots, such as the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.
Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Manager at estate agents Taylor Wimpey Espana, said: "Given the region is relatively off the tourist radar when compared to its more southerly cousins, property prices in this part of Spain remain reasonable and very good value for money.”
Otherwise known as the ‘Orange blossom’, the Costa del Azahar has plenty of beautiful beaches, as well as traditional villages and the mountains of Castellon.
"One of the great things about the Costa del Azahar is the fact that it has maintained all that is authentic about Spain.
“The coast has upheld its appeal with people and activities still in keeping with Spanish culture and tradition - something that appeals to second-home buyers who want to immerse themselves in the true Spanish way of life.”
The region is expected to see a growing number of property purchases due to its wide appeal and affordability.
Transferring money to Spain
If you are looking to invest in Spain, think carefully about how you will be transferring money to Spain. Foreign currency exchange rates quoted by banks are almost always worse than the exchange rates available through specialist currency dealers.
So if you are sending money to Spain – which you will inevitably have to do if you are looking to make a property investment, be sure to compare the market before you buy your overseas currency.
