Exchange Rate pushes people to buy Italian homes

People looking to buy property abroad should look at alternatives to the usual Spain and French property purchases with people monitoring the exchange rates to spend on a holiday home may find Italy is an option now worth considering.

Investors might find the city of Verona is the right choice for them and could find a new home in the area is simple to get to and offers a wide range of attractions.

Italian state tourist board spokeswoman Stefania Gatta said: "Verona is a wonderful city in its own right, but also is a gateway to Lake Garda, the Dolomites and other historic towns such as Padua and Mantua."

Her comments follow the news that a new route to the Italian city has been made available by easyJet from London Gatwick, something Ms Gatta suggested will improve ease of access to the destination and give people travelling from the UK more options.

France and Germany may be another destination worth considering as German National Tourist Board deputy director Jeanette Schuchmann recently suggested the country might be a great choice for those looking to improve their health, thanks to the number of spas on offer.
